The only 8 cylinder gran prix motorcycle ever made was done by Moto Guzzi in 1955. Their single cylinder bikes were getting beaten by the Gilera 4 cylinder bikes so they first tried 6 cylinders and then went to 8. Certainly the fastest bike in its day (180 mph). There was not enough time to debug the design to make it a real winner since Moto Guzzi stopped its race programs in 1957. The fairing is called a dustbin fairing and they were outlawed around 1957 due to lots of accidents when the wind blew (weather, not personal). This replica is a faithful reproduction of the original but with more modern design in the internal engine and ignition (the original had 8 sets of points – try to tune that).
